Why a Christmas shoot?

I LOVE Christmas. It is such a lovely time of the year and I get so excited for the planning and build up of it. Now I have my three children, I really enjoy making it a magical time for them. Over the years we have created our family traditions that we look forward to each and every year. We plan for activities throughout the run up to the big day such as, seeing Santa, the Christmas lights, Family games nights and Nana's Christmas party etc.

Another must, is to update our photo's! As we have been doing them every year, they have become a lovely way to see our children grow. We have added more babies to the family and the little ones are not so little anymore! So we always gift family members their updated photo in a frame, and they always love them! It is especially helpful when you can't think of anything to buy Grandad who says he doesn't want anything, or Nanny who already has too many bath set's! Who doesn't love a beautiful photo? It always get's a big smile from them.

It has become a tradition, for not only my own children, but my nieces and nephews to come and have their photo taken too. They get their special outfit's on and come and see 'Lee Lee' in the studio, then after a quick mini shoot, they get a treat for being so good! It is now something that we add into the diary along side the Christmas lights as it is another fun activity for them.

It is because I love doing them so much, that I have offer Christmas mini session's to my clients too. They are a once a year mini session, which is at a discounted price to my usual full sessions. They are short and sweet, at only 20 minutes and include 5 digital images to keep. They can be shared with loved ones, displayed in your home, posted on social media and even made into Christmas card's! They are done in November, to ensure there is plenty of time to get them prepared.

This year I have decided to keep the set-up minimal and leave all the focus on your family. Which means that they can be enjoyed all year round. and this year it is not just about the children either! I am encouraging a family shot of you all together too, to get that updated family portrait for 2022!

If you are wondering what to wear, I always recommend neutral tones, as these will look beautiful and timeless. So think, chunky knitwear in white, cream, beige or grey tones. However if you want these to be fun and festive, please do pull out the festive prints, Christmas jumpers and all sparkles! There are no rules here. It's Christmas!

I cannot wait to see everyone for their xmas session's this year! Let the countdown begin!
